Apples iPod Mini leads T3s Top 100 gadgets
4th November 2004
When it comes to the best gadget of 2004, Apple’s iPod mini music player is streets ahead of the competition, that’s the word from T3 magazine.
The sub-£200 portable music player tops the list of best gadgets in front of thousands of pounds worth of technology, including the life-changing Sky + system and a wafer thin laptop computer from Sony. All 100 items in the chart are reviewed in the specially compiled “T3 Top 100 of 2004” supplement, free with the Christmas issue of T3 magazine, on sale November 15th.
The “T3 Top 100 of 2004” is a special 28-page supplement, with lavishly shot photography and special reviews of each gadget in the rundown – which range from a £20 computer tool to a £10,000 belt-driven Tag Heuer watch. Sponsored by Microsoft’s desktop division – the supplement also includes an exclusive competition giving readers the chance to win Microsoft’s latest finger-print secured mice and keyboards. To enter readers have to place their thumb on an innovative heat-sensitive strip to reveal whether or not they have won a prize.
James Beechinor-Collins, Editor of T3 says: “Once again we’ve put together the T3 Top 100 – a special supplement that our readers love to collect. The supplement is also a fantastic buyers guide for those looking to get some inspiring Christmas presents with loads of ideas for all budgets.”
“The T3 Top 100 of 2004 is a fantastic way to bring such a great year for T3 to a close. Not only have we made some significant changes to the design of the magazine to make it even more accessible, but we’ve also done some pretty amazing things like building a home cinema in a shed and blowing up a Game Boy and an iPod to see which gadget was indestructible. We’ve got loads of ideas for next year and promise not to disappoint the growing base of T3 readers.”
The Christmas issue of T3 also features the first UK trial of the world’s first robotic iron and steam cleaner – the Siemens DressMan, as well as a rundown of the most stylish toys and gadgets for Christmas.
The Christmas issue of T3, featuring the “Top 100 of 2004” goes on sale 15th November, with a cover price of £3.70
