SFX, Future’s sci-fi and fantasy bible is celebrating the long awaited launch of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith with a series of specially created collectors’ covers, offering fans the chance to make a statement by taking their favourite Jedi home.
The May issue of SFX (issue 130) is a split-run with three special collectors’ covers available on the news stand for Star Wars fans. Featuring Obi Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu or Anakin Skywalker the collector’s covers are evenly split across the print run of 56,000 copies. Subscribers to the top ranking sci-fi magazine will receive an exclusive ultra-rare fourth SFX cover. This special cover features evil Jedi hunter, General Grievous – a new character that features heavily in the final film.
SFX also has a special nine page Revenge of the Sith feature. Packed with the latest Star Wars gossip and new pictures from the summer blockbuster, the feature also includes interviews with cast members Anthony Daniels (C3PO), Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett), Roger Guyett, the film’s Special Effects co-ordinator and Producer, Rick McCallum.
Issue 130 of SFX also features news from Dr Who and Batman Begins. The UK’s best-selling sci-fi magazine goes behind the scenes on the set of the Hollywood interpretation of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and also speaks exclusively with author Philip Pullman, creator of the acclaimed ‘His Dark Materials’ saga.
Mike Lamond is Publisher of SFX magazine:
“We are delighted to have these fantastic collectors’ covers to commemorate the launch of the final Star Wars film. We’re huge fans of the series and have put together the best possible coverage of Revenge of the Sith for passionate sci-fi fans. This issue of SFX also continues to focus on what’s coming soon in the world of sci-fi and fantasy. There are loads of great films and TV shows that promise to fill the gap after Star Wars mania subsides.”
SFX issue 130, with four special split run Star Wars covers goes on sale, Wednesday 13th April, with a cover price of £3.75 – it also features a double-sided poster featuring Billie Piper as Dr Who’s new assistant, Rose Tyler and the stunning Tricia Helfer who plays No.6 in Battlestar Galactica.
