Shreks Puss In Boots Claws Total Film Readers Award

The swashbuckling cat from Shrek 2 – Puss in Boots has been voted the “Best Movie Animal” of 2004, according to the readers of Future Publishing’s Total Filmmagazine.
Voiced by movie heartthrob Antonio Banderas – the plucky moggy has between two dogs, a vomiting walrus and a baby camel to the first ever “Best Movie Animal” gong – dished out as part of the Total Film Reader’s Awards.
Other animals short-listed for the poll include the dog from Belleville Rendezvous – a French cartoon about cycling. A baby camel in The Story of the Weeping Camel and the Walrus from Adam Sandler comedy 50 First Dates are also on the list.
“The sword fighting digital puss really made the movie and clawed to victory with 94% of votes from Total Film’s readers, who had their say on our range of awards,” said Editor Matt Mueller. “He was a fantastic and loveable character that got the best lines.”
The awards were voted for by 10,000 readers and are published in the new edition of Total Film magazine, out today, November 2004.
