Future’s best-selling guitar magazine presents UK’s first DVD training aid
UK and European bestseller Total Guitar magazine is celebrating its milestone 10th birthday in style next month by covermounting a revolutionary new DVD packed with exclusive guitar lessons and interactive training tools – a first for UK music making magazines.
Celebrating its tenth birthday, Total Guitar from Future Publishing continues to go from strength to strength and recorded a 12.1% ABC increase year on year to 43,113 (January – December 2003). Preparing for the next 10 years Total Guitar has announced that a veteran of Future’s music portfolio Stephen Lawson has taken the Editor’s chair on the respected title, following the promotion of Scott Rowley, who becomes Editor-in-Chief at Future’s London-based Classic Rock magazine.
Every issue of Total Guitar magazine is packed with easy-to-follow transcriptions of the best guitar music, from the latest Green Day song to guest columns with the likes of legendary guitarists Paul Gilbert and Joe Satriani. The magazine also features interviews with the latest and greatest guitar players and groups, alongside reviews of the best music gear to spend your hard-earned cash on.
As a birthday treat to its loyal readers, the 10th birthday issue of Total Guitar offers a glimpse into the future of music making magazines, by pioneering the UK’s first interactive training DVD – jammed full of exclusive content including a guitar lesson with Canadian rockers Sum 41, tutorials teaching you how to play guitar solos in a day and a range of insider hints on how to keep your guitar in top condition from Total Guitar’s team of experts.
Stephen Lawson, Editor of Total Guitar said:
“I’m proud to be taking the helm of Total Guitar on the eve of its 10th birthday. The magazine is such a success story and universally respected by the stars, teachers and, of course, the readers. Our approach to learning the guitar is all about enjoying it and not taking it too seriously – playing guitar should be fun, after all. It’s a no-nonsense approach, which seems to appeal to players of all abilities.
“We’re really excited about the things this DVD has made possible – it’s a must-have for any Total Guitar reader. We were the first guitar magazine in the UK to covermount a CD and producing the first DVD is the next evolution.”
The special 10th birthday issue of Total Guitar issue 130 hits newsstands on 17 November, with a cover price of £4.99
